There was a little mouse
who could not reach his house.
For his home was off afloat
and he had lost his boat.
The mouse needed ride
to get to the other side.
So he asked for a favor
from his kind old neighbor.
Luckily the frog agreed
to do this little deed.
Now the mouse is home
and this completes my little poem.

'The mouse needed (a) ride' ...Was this a typo? It would flow more smoothly and be grammatically better. Perhaps lose some of the full stops and use commas instead in the appropriate places to achieve a better flow. Rhyming couplets don't need to to be complete sentences every time.
