The Mayan prophecies.
The theory of alignment
with the great star
and our equator.
The light that was seen
by fallen civilizations,
who have gone before
the rise of our decline,
in the low sun of winter .
Protestant England,
midnight oil
burns the night.
Newton in Cambridge.
His divine vision.
In waves of prisms,
and radiant color.
The indigo church of time,
that waits for
the speed of light,
and makes night and day
equal in length.
How we reach
with our hands
to heaven,
stretching to wonder
and study
and ponder
the elusive puzzle
of how and why.
Only to discover
we are too late
to save the dawn.
Author notes
Fragile,
yet some aspects and associations
with the science of Isaac Newton
and Mayan prophecies can be linked.
Even though they were two
very different times in human history.
How light was used
by an ancient and advanced civilization,
to calibrate time
and to predict their own
destiny.
Invading Spaniards threatened
their calendar and sense of time.
And the theories of
light and color,
and the science of Isaac Newton.

-
It is fascinating to look at how the ancient world studied the universe, we modern men sometimes miss out on what you can learn from long and detailed study.
Thank-you for a thoughtful and interesting poem
Jeff

-
hmmmmmm :)

twisted togeather
great use of prophets and prophecy! Wonderful to read another's work and see such a worldly intellect! This one's my favorite so far! -
HONOR WELL DESERVED
I have thought about this before, this one gives me even more to consider. nicely done.

-
it seems u charted the whole course of the human history in this one amazing poem...
-
A bit of a philosophical maze but nicely written. Makes me think of strobe lights, LSD and naked ladies in the rain. Happy trails neighbor.

-
So...
Wow, again.
I like your style, a lot. Not only that, I like your content.
Have you read "Ishmael"? Especially towards the end, it fits.

-
*Sigh* I really loved this.
"The light that was seen
by fallen civilizations,
who have gone before
the rise of our decline,
in the low sun of winter ."
The way in which you framed this idea; the "theme" of your words, (fallen, rise, decline, low) show what an incredible writer you are. This piece is less strightforward than some of the others of yours that I have read, but the mystery only adds to the ideas; its fitting. You are so talented! This is beautiful...
Always,
V

Superb plus
Wow, an incredible write, indeed. You've expressed yourself with great clarity. Thanks for sharing this one with us. -
"the rise of our decline in the low sun of winter","only to discover we are too late to save the dawn" Incredible stuff here. "Could" does not mean "should" and maybe sometimes "can" should be followed up with "why". So happy to be able to read your work again.
Thank you for firing up the brain cells.

This is trip the light fantastic!

Yeah...
we've come a long way, some say there's a lot further to go, but the further we go, the closer we become, you have a keen sense of introspective fusion...perhaps it's all an intreaguing illusion; I do not know, niether do I contest your interpretation, for all minds are linked, and when it comes down to pen and ink...strange pieces of irony appear like mirror images on the frozen surfaces of a lake, long time waiting to awake...
your words are knowledgable and straight..I speak with an ungainly gait...as opposites attract I feel a connection a juxtoposition, who cares; the wind dares to blow in the face of the sky...why not you and I...

for all its gracefullness and enchanting charms. Most well done my friend, your imagery is supurb!

-
Nicely done. I like the historic references and the use of the light and color. Intelligently conceived and written, this moves the reader along on a journey that is well-worth their time.

Brilliant
We truely think along the same lines im sure, i am at this moment writing someting along the lines of the return of Quetzlcoatl along the mayancalendar theme. This work sparks the imagination, takes you on a journey of time and ultimately mans great downfall according to the ancients.
"The indigo church of time,
that waits for
the speed of light,
and makes night and day
equal in length."
Breath taking in its simplicity yet absorbing in its pure depth of meaning. The link of newton is cleverly intertwined in how our civilisation bega as great ideas and ideology only to become corrupt and leading wonderfully to the last stanza. Excellent my friend!

-
Do you know how much I love your work? It's splendiferous I tell you! Love the last line exponentially!
-
Heh, this was awesome.
"The light that was seen
by fallen civilizations,
who have gone before
the rise of our decline,
in the low sun of winter ."
That speaks for itself, heh, I'm laughing because I like it so much. Very nice idea, very well put. I enjoyed it a lot!
"Only to discover
we are too late
to save the dawn. "
Blessings,
Brandon

Hello.
This is a good write, and I do appreciate the link however fragile you percieve it to be. And I also appreciate the reference to the Mayan prophecies; there prophecies have exact timings and connotations as with prophecies in Hinduism, amongst other things. 2012 11:11, winter solstice. The alignment with Pleiades, galactic centre, Earth, sun, etc., a good write.
My regards.

Intriguing
You definitely keep the reader's interest through your lines. It has wonderful historical references, and the language used in the poem is delightful. I truly enjoyed reading this poem!

-
You Must be an Indigo Child!
Wow I love this poem, its so spot on and very much in line with the understanding of the significance of the forthcoming 5th dimension/Golden Age.
Indigo children are already with us and the enlightened like yourself are amongst them.
Brilliant message and vision, lovely flow and rhyme and fantastic well delivered graphically presented poetic representation of enlightened eclectic thinking and empathy.
Fantastic work and a poetic masterpiece for sure. Love it, bravo!

Not bad ...
not bad at all. It certainly does make one wonder, thinking about that sort of thing. It gives me a headache if I think about it too long though.
The good thing about this is that it's short enough that I didn't get even a twinge.

-
the last stanza amazed me
but i think it would've hit even harder if
you fixed the spelling error
"to"-->"too" -
-
I would just like to take the time to tell you I was wrong and you were right.
So sorry...see ya taught me somethin....lol...very good....
Blessings,

I admire your poetry for the unique perception of reality it provides, and the language always appeals to the senses and imagination The issue of human helplessness is one discussed by many poets, established and not, but for the first time i found a poem that seemed universal! great write. ^^ i hope i interpreted it corectly.

-
Interesting
I enjoyed reading it but barely understood a word of it. Thanks for the authors notes, they helped alot. I really appreciate intellectual creativity and you have epitomised it here. Thanks for the thoughts and words
-
the so called civilized world isn't, and never has been, as civilized as we like to think, nor are we all the wiser for our advancements. There certainly is merit to the ways and means of the "less civilized" world. A very thought provoking and enjoyable read. Well done.

WOW...this is AMAZING!The topic is beautiful! Greatly put, my Poetic Master!!! :)

-
Wow indeed! this is so original I'm almost left without anything to say about it. Great historical and cultural references - is the title a pun at all? Structurally this flowed well and I'm trying to think of what else I can say apart from I congratulate you on your imagination and craft. Great write, thanks for sharing. I must read more of your work.
Cheers.

-
This is wonderful, you're a nut! It is succinct, yet has a depth and understanding to it. A peaceful curiosity within the mystery.... Beautiful, my friend!

-
A very nicely flowing write. You always amaze me with the depth of your thoughts.

-
Interesting write
on those prophecies. I've known about them since I was a little girl. By the way, last stanza, line 2:
to-->too. But very intriguing this piece is to me. I think I like it.
