The dripping of the eaves comforts me,
Alerts me to the cleansing of the world,
And saddens me, because my soul
Still remains tainted.
Oh, how I wish the rain would flood my heart,
Wash away all the thoughts and feelings that shame me
And leaving an organic freshness in it's wake.
Perhaps one day I shall be so lucky.
One day the rain will fall on me.
And allow the grass to grow once again.
Author notes
I kind liked this idea. I hope my poem works, I've kinda been in a melodramatic mood lately, and I know it shows in my work. Let me know!
