A fairy tale of a frozen spirit.

Once upon a time there was a fair princess
With an empty heart never knew what love is
Dreaming of a handsome knight
To bring her love and happiness..
Awaiting with fallen tears every night
With open eyes looking through the window
Trying to find the star will make her lucky;
"Just shine, my lucky star and let the magic show"
And there in the sky he could hear her voice
So he fell in love with her and forever never happy..
He was not a human, not the knight she had dreamed of
He's just a powerful creature weakened with painful love.
But he chose to be himself thousand years ago
Before he's a part of existence, he made the wrong choice
He could hear her saying: Shine my lucky star and let the magic show..
Echoes carried her call till he could hear her voice
And when she fell asleep with tears on her cheeks
He could watch her beauty and meet her in her sleep
They talked for many nights sinking through their dreams..
She often asked him why he can't be real
He had to come one day, he had to make her pleased
But skies are his home where all things freeze
And earth is like hell, will kill him with its heat.
How can they be together? How can they ever meet?
How can he be with her and make himself complete?
He can't tell the truth and make her cry a tear
He can't let her know he was never real
He just had to be alone and find what to do
His white wings waved and away he flew
sorrowful, he was weeping like men never do.
Though it was only darkness but a light had to shine through..
As hope again shines like it always used to do,
The reborn lover brought the right gift when he had to..
He collected the brightest stars like no other lover would do,
He carried the stars with his left, with his right, he carried the moon
With a hopeful smile he threw the gift through the window of the room
And whispered in the air: "My heart's dearest, come see what I've brought you"
Then the child takes a look and replies: "Owner of my heart,is it you?
Brought me these shining stars and this bright moon?
They do look pretty but all I want is you!
You had these for me and I have a kiss for you,
So why don't you come to me, please, dearest do!"
He was again sorrowful, not knowing what to do.
"Oh, child I can never do it, I wish you knew
I'm just a frozen spirit, not a human like you
Drops of water, that's what heat of earth turns me to.
Forgive me, dear.I will never be with you.."

Then away, he went and never came back..

    Standing applause

I really think this is a wonderful poem. I really love it!!! I think that you could maybe change a few words maybe even add more breaks through out this peice to help its flow. But you really kept the story going and that is what counts to catch the readers attention. This is a very tragic story though,a love that can never come true. Two hearts that are attached in love and souls that belong together but its forbidden. Great job. I am not into fairy tales but this one really caught my attention. Any time you ever want me to read something you just message me like you did this time and I will make sure to read and tell you what I think. Great write hunnie and keep up the good work.

This tale of love and light

doesn't quite fit the prompt. But, I don't care. I like fairy tales. And that spirit kind of reminds me of me, so, that's all there is to that. Love works in strange and wondrous ways. It crosses universes to be recognized for what it is. Selfless love recognizes itself for what it is. Thank you for your sweet entry.

What a sad story..They both wanted to be loved. However, the knight she sought in her dreams was not the star for he had no humam heart...and his gifts of more light was only a dream of hope...and she would never of been happy for true love is a gift of the human heart..

I'm bookmarking this. It shows truth is greater than having unhapy dreams come true. Its a good fairy tale=
one that deserves gold if i were the judge!
