The valley of dreams

Once upon the calm of day
where gentle wind would swift and sway
sunlit water shines and gleams
in the shadow, the valley of dreams

All the children frolicking free
blissfully happy like you and me
where now there stands a statue tall
which reads "where heroes come to fall"

We gaze in valleys lost in thought
of places we knew, and people we fought
on burning sand and broken ties
of forgotten pain and long post lies

All in all were all the same
we burn eternal in the same ol flame
where once we stood, side by side
we lived forever, we never died
