Silk of the Orient

Take me far into
the bloom of peach
where your hair might
tangle me in nectar

I will weave fevered bees
through silk to find
the origin of strands

you are the orient
minted jasmine
the mulberry leaves
feeding caterpillars
creating me exquisite

your hands claim captivity
with skin, I wind you up
inside the tangled web
that spins a golden spider
to have you love me

This poem elicits so much tactile and olfactory response. And I hear the bees as well. I am lost in my senses as I read this one. Well done. Well deserved bronze.

I see you did come up with a great title!! Loved the opening stanza – what wonderful and creative imagery…. It immediately draws the reader in. I would never look at peaches the same way again! You two did a marvelous job with this one… simply love this poem with it colours, it’s scents, imagery and peach-soft sensuality. Beautiful!

    Thank you for this entry.

Are you done? Your title is the same as your reservation one, amiga.

    "bloom of peach"
OH MY GOD, I KNOW that phrase is sooo inspired by our bubble tea conversation.

    Maybe not..

    "tangle me in nectar"
    SWEET!
    Like, literally..

    "origin of strands"
    AHAHAHAHA that's so clever.

    "the mulberry leaves
    feeding caterpillars"
    Okay, like this, like this.
This is crazy--your writing styles are seamless...though your AN helps.

    "claim captivity"
    Heh, nice alliteration.

    "a golden spider"
    Golden Spiderman?

    Good luck
