The Sorcerer's Spell

Such a strange and wondrous creature you are,
In armor clad, iridescent as glass,
And possessed of great, fluttering wings, as
If you could ride the great north wind aloft,
And, dragon-like, breathe fire across the land,
Parting vast seas, so you might drink the earth
And consume me in your sorcerer's spell.
When the first light of morning floods the dark
Corners of our bed chamber, and I wake,
I discover again, that you are here,
A mortal, still strange and wondrous to me,
Forever changing in my sweetest dreams.

The images evoked by this draw the reader into a wonderful fantasy, to wake with your sorcerer, changing the sweetest dreams for reality. This matches your target mood.

      Thank you

I had fun writing this poem. It is a little out of my field. I am not much of a fantasy fan, but the prompt was so tempting.

Quite good. Dragons... Race memory; Cross culture. I think the dinosaur bones are a clue. Biomechanical engineering has determined that the atmosphere would have to be twice as dense, with an oxygen content of 23% to achieve enough aerobic capacity with the available lung size. In such an evironment, flames would kindle much more easily. and the calcium and phosphorus in bone reacting with stomach acids would result in belches of hydrogen. Something to think about, yes?

    Magical!

If only dreams were reality and we waken not..but stay forever in that enchanted realm where the impossible is commonplace and the fantastic is an everyday occurrence...excellent write!...Dan x
