For One Stupid Reason

I hate that look
the stare you give me
when I've upset you
for one stupid reason or another.
That look that screams
"You have no idea what you're doing."
That look that asks
"Why do I even waste my time?"
That look that tells me
you're disappointed with me
for one stupid reason or another.
I hate it when you say things
like I'm three years old
and I need a guardian
because I can't take care of myself.
Like you think I'm completely incompitent
for one stupid reason or another.
I'm not completely stupid you know
and I can take care of myself you know
so don't pretend you know more than me
about every little tiny thing!
Even though I usually give in
for one stupid reason or another.
Don't look at me in that tone of voice!
Don't walk away when I'm trying to fight!
Don't treat me like I'm irrational!
Even when I am.
I know I am frustrating!
God am I ever frustrating!
And hard to be with
and hard to be around
and hard to love!
But please could you just try
for one stupid reason or another?
