Sometimes we must move on,
when our best plans go awry.
Whatever be the reason,
it's not important why.
I know the sky is crying,
with the news it heard today,
now that JoAnna's leaving,
what can this poet say -
to let her know I love her,
as many people do,
to tell her that we'll miss her,
and that we'll kiss her, too -
with our hearts and souls,
with our bodies and our minds,
as we wish her well,
and hope our dear friend finds -
whatever she is looking for,
as she wanders
d
o
w
n
the road,
If we could - I'm sure we would,
help her with her load.
Everybody has a journey,
that they must embark upon,
I swear I heard her singing,
that her soul would carry on!
No matter where she's going,
or what her fate may be,
she whispered on the wind,
as we sailed upon the sea -
"Never say Good Bye,
Never say Hello,
for I will always be with you,
in the center of your soul!"

This made me feel sad and a bit wistfull. "She whispered on the wind".....such a nice compliment! I mourne your loss of a friend but their leaving gave birth to a nice poem that will go on forever.......nice write!

What a beautiful job you did on this one! I don't know this poet, but I have read several for her in this contest, and this one is one of my favorites! I too, hope she will find what ever it is she is looking for, and will remain safe in her journey!

This is a beautiful dedication for Riftkin, full of the best sentiments...such a sad note. It is a sad day to lose such a good poet and friend. I am sure she will love this as much as she loves you. I sent a friend this today saying that although our paths may change as life goes along the bond between friends will remain forever strong, and I am sure this will be the case..although JoAnn is leaving her friendship will remain with those whose lives she has touch no matter where she is or what she may be doing.
