Memories Stubborn Mistakes

Trying prove my worth
Took up so much time
Both of us stubborn, both steadfast

I scream - see me for what i am worth
I have achieved, but you dont see
I am your daughter, but you say nothing

I too say nothing, but keep on proving
Until one fateful day the curtains of stubborness lifted
Just for a moment

You had cancer, not long to go
You saw my curtains ajar, and i saw yours
You looked at me differently because
Time was limited

The memory of those words,
Never to be forgotten
"I love you and i am so proud"
And then you were gone

I carry with me the memory
of stubborn mistakes
But i have the memory of those words
A mistake never to be made again

I like this poem. It's sad with a lot of emotion in it. The ending was really good. Thanks for entering.
