Whirlpools of Power

A power within us - lost - we need to find
Creating small whirlpools of thoughts in our mind
But if we look deeper - scan all of its range
We'll know that this power, has power to change
The mind is just something we use every day
But it's whirlpool of power is used to decay
It twists our emotions, the self undermines
Sometimes even positive thoughts it declines
So take back control, let your mind be your voice
As this whirlpool of power is YOUR power of choice

    Thank You for Your entry: Whirlpools of Power
    This piece tugged hard at Spirit and while I was reading which I do several times~ Images come to me in many forms~ Love the Beginning and how You start with Empowerment- A power within us and then last line- whirlpool of power if YOUR power of choice-
    I'm being shown a washing machine and how many buttons-choices there are but also the steps needed to go from dirty to cleansed- then being shown how conveniently there is the dryer and for those not afraid to work- the clothesline- I'm getting nudged to mention how You hit on emotions- twists our emotions- so many from what I have seen made their Mind their foe- not ally- and so go into battle-mode usually the Mind wins- and whatever thoughts manifested gains Power- which could be seen as good or not so good-I'm being shown Plankton from Spongebob...how small he is but in the Mind could be HUGE also destructive- the emotions become his slave - whether metaphor or symbolism
    Hopefully that makes some sense...
    Excellent take on the prompt in ten lines (more or less) ~ also smooth rhyme...
