Darkness falls, no light to be found
The stars are hiding from the creeping night
Yet to the darkness they are forever bound
Like I to you, lost is my light.
You took my heart and used it as firewood
You stole my soul while you pretended to be kind
I was destroyed, nothing withstood
Only one thing remained that was mine.
My mind stood defiant, stronger than you
Protecting and caring, there I can hide
Courageous and wise and always true
It even continued to live when all hope died.
It's forever mine and it's something you can't take
Nothing can destroy it and it's impossible to find
My sleeping heart and soul it will gently awake
It's my rock, my medicine, it's my mind.
