Soft snow drifts
slowly down
from the heavens,
throwing a blanket
down on the earth below.
Cold whips around,
but the old man
has a warm heart.
Mountains and forests
draped in a cold beauty,
green covered in pure,
innocent white.
One can see the world
in all of its perfectness
when the chill
wind comes in.
Author notes
Winter
Always loved the winter, the world just seems more beautiful when it is draped in snow.

yes the first views of a world in dress whites are stunning, although its been long, long time since I have seen first hand the gloss off a fresh Winters snow its recognizable but what you don't see is the dirty slush as it melts. The bitter cold the stopped transport the chaos that follows but in order to put up with that we are given this spectacular view as compensation

Haha, thank you! I am from Chicago so trust me, I know ALL of those flaws of winter. =P

Sometimes its the simplistic way that images come to mind with the writer uses the morst simplest of vocabulary
-
I very much like the pure, simple imagery of this--it's as pristine and uncluttered as a field of snow itself.
