When I Stopped

Lying in somber reality
of my colorized failures
head throbbing as clubbed
danger falls
behind.

I defy my reflection
pertaining to coded reprimands
which rest everlasting, as a
hawk
on willow branches silently waiting
in darkness for weaker to prey upon.

Holding claws and talons in hiding
as barbarians with synthesized cruelty
disguised as jeweled intentions
and I wonder where my empathy strayed.

Please tell me what you think

  • Very Nicely done!

The imagery and abstract metaphorical theme of this write strengthens the peice. I must admit it doesnt have as much of a flow as I would have liked to see, but then again, not all poetry needs flow in order to be beautiful.

This was a very nice peice. I feel the emotion.

    Great concept as well.
