I love all kinds of music some I like even more
Waltzes, Polkas, Classical, Jazz, with more in store
Dancing a Viennese Waltz or a Polka light and smooth
Makes me feel happy and gay and puts me in the groove
Remember in the groove, that goes way back to when
But every so many years, the old styles pop up again
My brother, sisters and I all played in the school band
I played trumpet and french horn, I thought they both were grand
I didn't continue with my music, much to my dismay
But I sang in the Church Choir on every Sunday
But even that got left behind until later on you see
But today all I have left are the wonderful memories
I just love to hear, Sousa's marches in parades
I sit along the Avenue, mostly in the shade
Watching all the bands doing their own thing
Enjoying all the notes that from the instruments ring
So many types of music, all have a place in time
Many beautiful ballads with lovely words that rhyme
Let's not forget Opera, so much beauty for the heart
Ready Maestro, raise baton, let the music start

If this don't get your feet to tapping
Wow i wanted to go find so old time music, even it it was only back to the fifties. When sock'n'roll was just getting started. Music did have some real up beat tempo then. I did like to hear Doris Day sing wow what a lady. her and her leading men from her movies. Frank and all of the other singers Like Martha Ray, Jimmy Duranty, I can just see them all saying Who? Thanks for the trip down memory lane...mac
