As I rock in a chair
on my backporch
watching in awe as
a summer storm blesses
with its kiss of love
The trees dance its crazy
dance as if in competition
with the wind and rain
to survive intact and whole
If I close my eyes slightly
the rain pouring off from
the overhang carries me
to a place of peace with
waterfalls that drown your sorrows
The blades of grass kneel down
in surrender freshly beaten by
the power of the rains voice
only to rise up again as the sun
breaths its sweet breath of warmth
drying the tears with its gentle caress
