Surrounded by whole gales of fortunes ill.
To calm the sea you sooth it with a lie
Bending the storm to trade winds with your will.
Then all appears to calm in sky and sea,
White horses put to pasture by your hand.
Then every freighter hauls futility,
Their cargoes worthless, you don't understand.
No ship that ever ends up in your ports
Has made the trip intended by their arts.
Unwitting sextants turned all out of sorts
Enchanted bearings, you've beguiled their charts.
All ships are lost when stars align untrue,
So holds laden with love shall not reach you.
Author notes
Harsh truths are always preferrable to beautiful lies, because only truth brings intended results as lies only bring unintended results. Since intention is the most important thing in life, you do the math.
White horses is another name for whitecaps on windblown storm waves.

Ahh yes, but what is one person's lie is anothers truth and vice versa I have found... so I guess the most important thing in life is to find your own truth and not allow other's truth, or their perception of your truth, to effect you! Hard to do... yes!
As always... a very thought provoking piece

The point is that if you are not true to yourself, you will find no one else can be true to you either.

loved the poem, and to go along with it:
Silence is golden, and this one: there is a time and a season for everything under heaven....a time to speak, and a time to be silent....and: Precious is the the man who knows his words, and he who speaks at the right time for it, All of the following are quotes from : GOD lovely poem. Truth is undeniabley the right choice, but only when used with love and insight, Yessa! xx

Hmmmm ....
unfortunately, there's more truth than fiction here. It's a strange world we live in, and the lies seems to be on the ascendant on all sides.
Thanks for entering.
