Slipping past my defenses
I let you steal my breath
again and slip into my cornea;
the apple of my eye,
the spring in my step,
and the shine in my smile.
You put the jingle in my
laugh with your corny jokes
and you put my heart together;
only to break it apart later
with your rejection.
I know it isn't me you want.
I'll still be here when
you're gone, waiting for you
to see that you're the only
one that is really for me;
don't make me wait just because
you know I will.
Be brutally honest!

I love this line:
"don't make me wait just because
you know I will."
It's a great finish to a really nice poem, in fact the whole last stanza is a great finish.
