Just A Stray

A simple stray
Caught under the streetlight.
A simple outline
In the black of night.
Adopted by the street
Too different to be home.
A black cat blending to the curb,
Its origin unknown.
Head turned to the sky
The moon as a nightlight.
Thinking to the past,
And a former life.
The stray wanders on
Aimless and forgotten.
Feeling uncared and unloved,
Looking a bit rotten.
It is rarely noticed.
When it is nothing's done.
Don't worry kitten, I say to myself,
You're not the only one.

I really liked this, I love how you used the stray kitten to relate to yourself. I also love the use of imagery. Awshum poem.

I had a feeling that this metaphor was coming in the end.
It just felt familar, like unnoticed solitude.

I like this. It seems to be really simple, but I still could really feel your words.
If you know what I mean.
