Do you remember?
How you held his heart,
too tight.
You suffocated him,
his soul drowned in fright
fights, sobs, screams
They hunted him every night
You forgot his pain
while he cried himself to sleep,
wishing he could do the same
too often your fists collided with his face
you loved him, didn't you?
that's why so many bruises stained his face
do you remember?
can you still hear his screams?
do you still see him bleed?
does he still ask you why?
do you still hear him plead?
you kicked him when he was down
do you remember, now?
when you left, you took his sanity with you
he struggles to forget the pain
hiding behind his drugs
trying to forget
but from the inside he is already death
he lies in the darkness
never leaving his bed
rotting,
until there is nothing left
do you remember?
because I will never forget
