Looking out on the roaming canyons,
takes me back to a
special time to my heart.
familiar tune plays quietly in my head.
How I remember the long days
laughing in our bed.
I will not take these
things for granted.
Kissing you late into the night.
I will not....
Feel the warmth of your smile.
The joy knowing love.
I will not take these things for granted...
Crying in your arms.
I will not, anymore..

Oh. This is a sad little poem that you have going on in here.
I suppose it could just be taken a couple of ways though and maybe it's more about affirmation of your feelings and your decisions. So I think that it's good that it's open for interpertation by your readers. You did a good job of expressing yourself here.

Nice
I can actually feel this...I especially like this:
How I remember the long days
laughing in our bed.
I will not take these
things for granted.

I think in line four, you meant "familiar", not "famular".
Deeply emotional write. It is difficult to draw the line and cut off your grief, to make yourself decide to move on - but at some point, it becomes necessary. Even though I can't tell you it will go away completely, it does get easier, I promise.
Sometimes your heart will still ache as you come across something you did together, or when you hear a certain song or see a person from your past. It's difficult, but eventually you learn to smile wistfully and be happy for what little time you did have - and what lessons you learned.
Good job and good luck!
