Two Roads

Two roads slowly converged
Upon one another
And began to split apart once again
And at this simple fork
Sat a simple girl
Who knew which road to take
But also loved the simple path
The other offered
These two roads would lead her
In two completely different directions
One where she would face certain
Self-destruction
The other was the slow and painful
Path to recovery
One would mean leaving herself behind
The other would mean hurting someone
So undeserving of it
So even though this simple girl
Knew which road to take
The simplest path still tempted her
For everyone knew how much
This simple girl enjoyed
Another's pain
This simple girl sat and sat
At this fork in the road
Still knowing which road to take
But not wishing to take it
Until she noticed a friendly hand
From one of the paths
And that became the road
This simple girl toke

So I think its time for me to face it: I have the beginnings of a drinking problem. And I feel like I am beginning to see the damage I am doing to the ones I truly love. I know which path I need to take... trouble is on the other path is a certain guy that I don't wanna hurt... but I feel like the only way for me to get though this is to hold on like hell to the few friends that have always been there and have never encouraged my drinking and this guy has never been either

Please tell me what you think

I agree with scoff on this take the right road and you'll make it and stick with your friends that didn't encourage you to drink. They'll help you with this problem.

    You're halfway there.

Recognizing the right road is half the battle. That part, I believe, you've won.

The only thing left to do is... take it.

Of course that's the hardest part, but I think you can make it. If you have friends willing to help you along your way, then, so much the better.

Good luck, and keep writing. I can tell you from personal experience, it helps.
