Deadly beauty

http://allpoetry.com/images/ext/Contest/2411/761.jpg?1216403357

Looking so harmless and beautiful there it runs,
Like diamonds shining in the sun light,
Giving life to all around,
Where ever it runs is life.

It does have a dark side as well,
A darkened side who never sees daylight,
That takes more life then any other,
Leaves destruction and fear.

Regardless of its lovely or deadly sides,
It is still so great and beautiful,
Hiding its secrets well,
Having a whole planet relay on its being.

A wonderful take on the quote. Nature is so powerful and yet so beautiful but is sadly so often ignored! Good depth of feeling and great imagery and flow. Powerful words. Thanks for your entry and good luck.

Ooh, I loved how you gave that calm white water a dark side. And such a beautifully mysterious dark side it is too.
    Well penned.
