I sigh,
wondering what is ahead,
thinking that
"Anywhere But Here"
is a suitable destination
yes, this place is my home,
but also here are the sights and sounds
I loathe,
things that can hurt me most,
where vulnerability clearly shows,
where criticism burns the most
glistening tears linger
on my cheeks,
summoned not from sadness,
but from not knowing,
summoned from smiles
and maintained by passion
I am content,
but it is certain
there are some things
missing
So how was it?
