V1
There once was a rose in a garden
Which never a day could it bloom
By night it would hide with a sorrow inside
Awaiting a rain from the heavens.
V2
A new dawn arose the next morning
Yet never a cloud did amass
The rose bowed his head with a terrible dread
For it seemed not a drop would be shed.
V3
Now winter was growing much nearer
And within the rose grew a strong fear
For petals did fall and the worst thing of all
Was the rose would soon disappear.
Chorus
Hope set in on a shivering evening
When a thundering roar soared through the air
And as if a dream a spring now emerging
The rose joyously began drinking
V4
So those who are feint of believing
Remember the rose and spring
For although it may seem all a terrible dream
You’ll soon awaken near a stream.
Chorus
Hope set in on a shivering evening
When a thundering roar soared through the air
And as if a dream a spring now emerging
The rose joyously began drinking
Author notes
This actually sounds better with the music...it's kind of a celtic-inspired rhythm
Please tell me what you think

This tells a beautiful story
I really like that it has such an uplifting message curled within it - I think that it probably would sound better with music - but then, I like how it created a rhythm of its own in my mind
I really liked the repitition in the first two verses - and I don't know overly much about lyric writing, so I can't critique there
wonderful!
Keep writing
