We ran
through
long grass
galloped
like horses
on emerald,
played with
pale stones
in rapids of
the stream,
fish leapt
at red and
blue
dragonflies,
cradled in
Welsh hills.
Ducats
flowed
through our
hands
into chests,
such silver
and gold,
while we
contented
ourselves,
in sea-faring
ultramarine.
High in the
mountains
our forests
kept warm
in russet,
as I broke
the ice for
our water,
smiling in
honour and
pride
you gave
birth to our
first
in the cabin
of timbered
sienna.
Across
continents
our way
was
delayed,
nurtured
for
deepening
beyond
colours,
the beauty
we found
in each
other again.
