Destiny or Fate

Today is the execution of the Dark Nun, Sister Mary Jane

whose shattered heart lost all hope in her attempts to commit suicide.

This is her last stay, it will be up to us, to boldly decide her fate.

She is responsible for the deaths of innocents,

children, pregnant mother and volunteer rescue crew.

Claiming not to be victim, ready is she to die too eagerly,

Unless we decide to extend our hand of mercy.

Wise counsel does present the book of humanity.

Mankinds accountability and personal responsibility.

With fever he spoke to save her mortal life.

“Steaming in the fires of life”breathes legend, custom and bold belief."

Tender pages filled with bleeding lessons learnt. Destiny or fate,

each will illustrate,  guilt or innocence. It is now yours to decide.

The Legend of Six Degrees “connects” us  powerfully,

 separated by five dimensions unseen. Theory presents;

Everyone on earth is bound uniquely, to “any” other person

through a chain of acquaintances  that has no more than five intermediaries.

I ask of you now, “What was our responsibility,”

Could this suffering have been stopped”

Were we too busy, over-scheduled, weary, stressed, and taxed out.

Or was it merely apathy that caused us not to get involved.

We are, the living part of the six degrees. Innocent I say..innocent today!

The prosecutor lifted his fist and boldly turned a page,

The book of life glowed a taunting sight.

Angrily, the prosecutor spoke;“Custom does say;

she em-powered “Karma” to destroy all in her mortal path

of night and day.”

She cast out mightily for death, and when it came time to pay,

She allowed  the innocents To pave her way of guilt and shame.

How dare you blame us! It was she who released “The Evil” among us.

Karma in its nature obediently obeyed. Guilty! She is Guilty,

A brutal murderess!

The sister wept tears of agony and pain. One last chance to save

Dark Nun, Mary Jane from the grips of death.

With a humble grace her counsel  spoke in soothing low tones.

“My last piece of evidence is found upon the pages of belief.”

It is true, my client was overwhelmed with grief, no comfort arrived

to hear her soulful tears. She could not bear the pain and suffering,

present all around her.

The Torah, Dead Sea Scrolls, Qua’ran caution us powerfully,

If we remove life, it is a piece of our honor we destroy.

Would it not serve the grieving for Sister Mary Jane,

to serve her life repaying the soulful gift of our mercys given.

WE have the ability to steal back from Death this one life,

If we extend our hand of humanity.

I plead for sister Mary Jane, who is willingly prepared to die.

Do not allow  Death to victor,

It will serve and devour bitter dining vengeance.

Innocents will not be peace-fully brought back to life.

Why should we gift to evil, one more piece of flesh.

The additional layers

of guilt and anguish, will then be…ours to re-pay.

I plead mercy for Sister Mary Jane.

Solemnly I  rest my case.

The book of life dimmed, as the judge dismissed us to recess.

The decision now is ours…

Conviction, Condemnation death, or anguish innocence.

Author notes

Contest prompt: a story presented to us about a Dark Nun Mary Jane who could not but
help attract the forces of death brutally.

I took a bold spin on it...tried to present to you in a most unique way..
at the very least it does cause us to chew and question our own beliefs
as this is a topic that is truly wrestling indeed.
