As the angel fades

As the angels cried
my dreams breathed their last
touching the bottle of regret to my
trembling lips, I think of
all the little things once said,
that crushed the hope within me.

Soft as a butterfly I slowly drift
into the wind trying to escape
the shadow that calls your name
as the picture of our laughter shatters,
in every tear that falls
flooding my world with sorrow.

The choir sings, as heads bow
church doors open while my soul
tries to free itself from this pain
that your smile brings everytime
it collides with my future,
beauty dressed for a dramatic end
such an Angel as this bleeds upon your laughter.

    oh yes, another wonderfully written poem. You write so well my friend. Your use of imagery is wonderful and I can just see the story as it unfolds with your words. Great job. And the pictures always add so much to the story too. You pick them well my friend.
