Not quite understanding the allure
toying with the edge of her short ruffled skirt
She straightens and gives the camera another pose
tossing her hair and small hips out
Though her eyes shine through the mask of sensuality
all that is asked of her is her body
and she gives them what they want without knowing why
She dreams of a different beauty
draped with not-so-sheer fabric and mystery
Though she is much more than she seems
she envies the everchanging muse
jaded by all she has seen
But to enter that world she would lose herself
the only name she was ever given
Innocence
She lives on not understanding what is asked of her
the tops slip lower, skirts rise higher
and something of the sleaze seems to enter her mind
but she pushes it away, not wanting to know
telling herself they only want her for her smile
Author notes
Hmm, I'm not quite sure if I conveyed what I wanted to.

Wows, the picture is so pretty, almost magical...
I love this poem, it's full of meaning for me. I'm not exactly sure why, but it is. "telling herself they only want her for her smile"
Great line, wonderful poem!

Good
I agree with your comment. Keep what you have, but explore more; dig deeper. I sense more thought behind the poem than what these three stanzas convey. Explore, revise, and repost. I'll be looking for it.
