Take him up into the skyway
Take him up where those little birds seem to go
And when he asks "home?"
She’ll look back and replay "you are home"
Because that’s where he didn’t even know he wanted to go
1974 is rising soon
An Indian summer might be the last thing they need
Golden is her skin upon her face
Now, why don’t you let that tiny dancer lead?
Blue skies are the genius of the highway
Cause the journey is the destination in fact
Those eyes full of hope and untamed wildness
Are the movements in her almost famous act
A fake name, a green fur coat in the heat of summer
Are just the outlandish costumes she’ll put on
All this girl seems needs is something to drink,
Plus another cool voice to sing her favorite songs
She sits upon that setting sun
With always that same smile on her face
This tiny dancer starts singing her song
Looks over to him and places her head on his shoulder
He realizes home is right here, this place
Author notes

I like this song alot, and I thought you did a really nice job on it. I too felt that you did capture a bit of the original "Tiny Dancer" in this piece. It flows so nicely and tells a nice story too.
You have a way with words, because I could actually see the story folding out. Thanks for your entry!
