Oh! How nice it is,
to be held so close,
to be kept so nice and warm!
Thoes lovely brown eyes
how they never fail to light up
at the sight of my face
or the whispers I shared with you
on thoes horrible rainy days.
And how I love, love, LOVE
to be your "baby" in your pretend shopping cart
going to the store in the pantry
for pickled beets
and sweet corn.
I loved on Easter morning
how you would fix the tuff of my hair,
my two ears, and two horns
into multi-colred pony tails.
How fast it seemd till you were fixing your own hair!
All the rides with you on the bus,
up and back from the doctor.
Crossing busy streets with your Mother,
running to keep up with her.
Your face, always with a determined squint
to not be left behind, not to be forgotten.
But I will never forget.
You had so many other toys in your bed at night
but it was I who you held close to.
Close to your head so I could whisper you to sleep,
and keep you safe from the monster lurking in the bathroom
{or behind the shower curtain when the light was out of course.}
Mornings, they were my favorite time of all.
Sitting next to you while you ate,
and watched your favorite shows.
{Don't worry, I know Barney can never compare to me.}
And all the "surgeries" I went through after I was torn,
or my stuffing getting too hard for your curly-haired head.
And I would lie still and not make a sound
while the needle went in and out.
I was brave for you always.
The song I used to sing you,
Our song.
I still whisper it to you after all these years,
while you sleep.
My head still tucked securley under yours,
I whisper all the stories I can remember of you.
And though you have so many friends now,
and I sometimes feel like I will never do,
When you come into bed at night,
you still hold me close
and oh! how it is so nice
to be so warm and close
to my dearest friend.
Author notes
My favorite toy was a stuffed cow I named "Moo Moo" I had gotten her for my first Christmas. I still sleep with her to this day. <3

Cute^^ glad you're still attached. I like the piece and your ability to capture the personality of the toy. The references to your childhood are there but a little vague. I would have liked more, but the toy's view is well captured, so koo-does.
