Acting crazy like it's love




it's a hard head on soft pillows,
good friend and a glass of wine
left over from a night of half moons.
Black dress smelling of cigarettes,
your stale lips with a lot less
satisfaction

morning muddles me again,
contusions in my head
from sleeplessness

trying to figure out
where it is I sit
inside your life

grabbed at flesh that pleases,
appeasing ghosts; satiating needs
that your fingers used to swell in,
tide that comes and goes; drifting

into land locked bays, a mouth
hovering between saying full
and being empty

take silence as a good sign,
nothing finishes without sound

not even a kiss
