Robbing the Cradle (full version)

Missing image

Have you considered my Servant Duana?

Mwah. She's a shameless child.

A child with a conscious, and

all she knows is my love for her.

Y O U R   love for her?

Are you that sure?

Even I know that it's

every child's instinct to be loved!

....by whomever and whoever meets her needs...

let me Satisfy her, and she will be mine forever.

and you will see what a fool you've been.

now it's your turn to consider my servant Duana.

I have chosen her before the foundation of the world.

Do what you will but I know my child.

And with one quick turn of events  in that innocent child's life

Satan's minion took charge, offering her the sweetest love

a person could ever know, twisting her soul.

Too innocent to understand though,

she kept her faith in God, and never cursed him.

To innocent to understand, though...Satan smirked confidently...

don't you see that is the reason she has not cursed you?

She's a CHILD!  too innocent to understand, not because

she has any real loyalty or understanding of y  o  u.

how could she?  She's a c h i l d...

let me rob her of that very innocence and she will curse God and Die.

God's heart broke.

Do what you will

and your eyes will be opened when you realize that a child

beats you at your own game!

All it took was another slight twist of events,

a mere moment out of a million precious moments

in a lifetime, and Duana began staring evil in it's face,

a feeling overcame her that she had no name for,

a feeling like that before dinner time, but it was her

soul that became insatiable...

emptiness engulfed her, and the whole world seemed to turn

against an her...she was now on the outside looking in.

hunger a child has no name for.

but it was her decison, and in the void of nothingness,

she also discovered choice and she chose not to curse God,

and she chose to be excellent in what is good,

and innocent of evil.

in the midst of terrible unspeakable heart emptying evil.

Ah, Satan didn't give up yet...she has her family.

She's protected. What would she do without them?

She'd never make it on her own.  Let me rob of her

of the security of family.

And God shook his head.  "Do what you will."

Her brother's began took at her differently.

They saw what evil was doing to her, and

mistook it for evil itself...within her.

"There is something terribly wrong with you, they mused.

What kind of sin have you been up to?

Get straight with God and you will not be so sad.

Get straight with God and you will be surrounded by friends.

Get straight with God and your beauty will shine through.

Get straight with God and you will not wonder

why bad things happen to people.

Enter Friend of compassion:

Duana, my heart yearns to touch you, but you are closed off

from me and you are so closed off from God.  Only when you

open your heart to him will you be free for God to love you.

Enter Authoritative Scoffer:

Duana, curse God and you will be free.

It is because your heart is too tender that you are

experiencing emptiness and fear and darkness.

Look at the excellent choices you are making

even as a mere child,

but you choose to believe in a fairy tale.

You must grow up and let go of stories.

Use your will to free yourself of nonsense.

Curse God and you will be free like me,

to think whatever you please.

Enter Teacher of Wisdom:

Duana, you are only in a transition.

Evil is not real.

Change is difficult and you will

experience it throughout your whole life time.

Embrace the emptiness.  Stop struggling.

There is no evil to struggle against.

It is all your imagination.  You are frightend.

The deaf, the dumb and the blind of the world

posed as her instuctor of wisdom.

Still, in all this Duana did not curse God.

"Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet,

and a light unto my path..."

"and it is Him I will serve.

Praise be to God."

Satan was given permission to attack

for eighteen years and twenty more

in the prime of her youth and and adulthood.

A life shrouded in evil, mistaken as her own evil.

AND THAT, Satan tells God is why she serves you!!!

Not because she loves you, but because she is not

even aware of her own darkness.  Let me bring to

her that knowledge and she will curse you to your face

welcome death as her long lost friend.

It is her own self pride keeping her alive, NOT her

love for you silly man.

God waved Satan off.  "Do what you will.

Part II Her Dark Descent

This time, Satan himself walked into her life,

clothed in the fine raiment -

genuinely offering her everything she had

missed as a child.

For the first time as an adult,

blessed with a fine family and husband,

she ached

and remembered

as a child.

The horrible hunger pains in her soul

buried deep down,

convinced now that THIS darkness was her own fault;

This Pain she felt ever since she was a child.

She felt it again as if being choked by it the first time.

Satan himself walked into her life,

clothed in the finest raiment

and she reached for fulfillment,

justifying the fulfillment, even

praising God for the fulfillment,

blind to the fact that her fulfillment was hurting

those she loved...

until she had to make a decison between good and evil,

and she came to the awareness of her own desire and

ability to make evil choices.  Confronted with such

crossroads, she rejected evil, and this time her

darkness was caused by her own sin,

and she howled out in pain.

And lived in darkness and weeping and gnashing of teeth,

for many years to come.

Her friends came to comfort her.

Her teacher of wisdom came again posed as a minister:

Duana, you are only in a transition.

Evil is not real.

Change is difficult and you will

experience it throughout your whole life time.

Embrace the emptiness.  Stop struggling.

There is no evil to struggle against.

It is all your imagination.  You are frightend.

God is love and he accepts you.

His greatest gift to you is love.

We all sin and God expects that of us,

and he forgives us.  There is no lasting evil,

no evil can hurt God or you as a child of God.

What you see as sin God see's as silly.

You must except the ying and yang within

yourself.

And all the great voices of the greatest

philosophies of the world itched her ears

and she considered them all the as the

essential criterion of reality.

And then God had enough,

and out of the whirlwind he spoke:

I am God, declareth the Lord,

and there IS no other beside me.

Get thee behind me Satan.

Duana, my dear child whom I have known

before the foundation of the world,

and have loved you.

My dear precioous child,

you are blameless.

Your blameless is not about you.

It's about your focus on me.

You chose not to curse me,

as the scoffer did.

And you spoke rightly about me,

unlike your brothers, and

the teachers of compassion and wisdom

who spoke who wrote these philosophies,

and spoke incorrectly about me.

Rest in the presence of God,

not in man made philosophy.

Part III Restoration

And God restored in her,

awareness of her innocence,

and blessings 100fold.

Let the children come onto me.

Forbid them not, for such is the

kingdom of God.

This is a fabulous write. You would have won in the contest if only it did not close so soon. I am new to all of this but I do know Faith when I read it. Don't mind that comment on the "God's Heart Broke". I think it was an excellent part. God's Heart does break when his children go through the fire. He is a compassionate God, If he did not have a heart that he would not be God. He is the Heart of all things. Thank you for sending this to me. I agree with the others. You should write a book about this. It would make for a wonderful read, I would buy it. God bless you and thank you for sharing this fabulous poem with me. It is not to long either, it is perfect in every way.

Duana I'm sorry I think this is too long as a poem but as a story it would be great. I have to be honest and say I do not like the line 'God's heart broke' as this gives the impression that He is human when we know that in fact Satan has no power over God as He alone is all powerful.

As a poem it did not work for me but as a short story I think it would be absolutely fantastic.

    Hugs and God Bless

Regarding your comment about God's heart broke. God IS human- he came in the form of a man- Jesus and he has all the human qualities we have. His heart did not break because Satan had power over him but because of the sympathy he felt over what Satan's actions were doing to another person.

Also, the entire book of Job is poetry not actually a story.
