Pisces Rainbow

Missing image

Why do I love rainbows,

that's a story I can share.

It began not long ago,

as I bowed my head in prayer.

Life was getting bumpy,

I was living in despair,

My husband close to death,

I was overwhelmed with fear.

My mom, my closest friend,

had lost her memory.

Please help her Father,

was my never ending plea.

I prayed to God,

Father please show me your there.

I realized my faith was weak,

but I was truly scared.

Father please,

I have tried so very hard.

Please don't leave my side,

show me where you are.

The next morning I had awoken,

with no hope at all.

I opened up my bathroom door.

it seems my Father came to call.

Rainbows on the ceiling,

rainbows on the floor,

rainbows in the bathtub,

I could not ask for more.

My prayer was to know for sure,

that he was there.

Since that day, I swear to God,

I find rainbows everywhere.

Author notes

April 20 2007 my husband was in a near fatal motorcycle accident, he was unconscious for days, he spent months in the hospital, in August he came home he spent the next few months in a hospital bed at home he is doing incredibly well, I am very grateful, This happen just before I changed my name to Pisces rainbow,
I actually point out the rainbows to everyone just to verify, (hey you never know),
I bought my house five years ago, up until this time not a single rainbow,
last sighting was yesterday across my coffee table, and yes I have a witness (smile).
I love bubble baths and I always have a house full, my bathroom has always been my sanctuary, I always pray in the bathroom(silly but true)

    beautiful

A beautiful write. You have penned this well. You have taken the reader on a wonderful journey with your poem. The story told was clear and understood.I too love rainbows, they have a spiritual connection with my deceased baby. When ever I see a rainbow,I think of her,I asked the angels to show me a rainbow on the day we go to visit her grave. The day before had been a sunny day, and when we arose the next day to go visit her, there was a huge bright rainbow on that cloudy day.
Take care and blessings of love and happiness I send to you.

by the way, I have a little secret :
this morning, there were rainbows all over my bedroom wall as well ...

    Photobucket

    Photobucket

but I must admit that I am using a special "rainbow-maker" that is hanging on my window ... if you wish, I'll make you one ... although you don't really seem to need it, for you got the "real guys" hanging around you ...

    much love,
    marion

    dearest kathleen,

I felt goosebumps while reading your poem ...
I can so very well relate to every word you are saying, for I am very much like you what concerns attracting little miracles ... I imagine sitting with you on the seashore and we're telling each other our little stories of faith and grace ... and the seagulls soar above our heads, blessing our gathering ...
I have written a spirit tale in french called "the rainbow and the diamond" ("l'arc-en-ciel et le diamant"), which speaks of the realization of our "rainbow-body" and the dissolution of ego-mind and the achievement of "transparency" ...

    well, enough rambling ...
so happy to have a "rainbow-friend" like you in my life,

    much love,
and heartfelt greetings to your husband and your mother

    Hello Pisces Rainbow.

A very touching write, and understandable why you love rainbows. This is good story telling; and seeing the rainbows.........well what can I say? Some things are meant to be felt so I shall and can say nothing about it.

As for verifying the rainbows, that is a nice human humorous touch.

This is obviously a personal write, but I must say that in stanza 4 line 2, it reads like an extra word in there, for the tightness of the structure is compromised, personally I would take out "that", for it reads better, however this may make it less truthful. I didn't want to hide what I felt about that line. I hope I have caused no offence. Also in the "next morning" line it should be past tense, so it should be awoken, not awaken.

I do hope your husband continues to recover if there is any more recovering to do, and I wish your whole family well.

    My regards to you all.

    VERY SWEET

This explains the name nicely! even if it weren't true it would be a great story, but being true makes it a better story! good, interesting piece my friend!
