Winging Souls

Trees are flying in the breeze
Like Eagles they sail across the seas
Within us all an Eagle there be
Do we feel those wings leading
Above the turbulent sea?

Relying on them, flying through the night
Always striving towards the Inner Light *
Enlightenment radiates from within
Our Essence need not grow dim
luminescence outside; alarmed inside

Yet, when the time comes near...
Letting go of all we hold dear
Effulgence surrounds us
Carrying us home; fearful no more
We need not roam

Effulgence had me scrambling. The trip, and not the destination. For some particular reason the AN touched me, and the note that it was written in an arboretum makes it even better.
No kidding. When I found that, I read your work again.
The setting brought your words to life, the sense of freedom, true freedom, it's interwoven throughout, and it's quite beautiful.
I think this poem is exactly what I needed to read today, thank you.

  • Outstanding

I really liked the sense of a journey in this poem. The whole concept of moving towards the light - finding the bright places. I thought the metaphor of the eagle was particularly strong and worked well in the poem suggesting freedom as well, the choices that we face in life. Over all an excellent poem with great flow.

    Stunning!

A very deep and soulful piece you have penned here. I really love your use of metaphors relating to the elements of nature. This is where many of us find our selves, in times when we need to replenish our souls.

No matter where we might find our selves in life, as long as we're in the direction of the light, we are on the right path / flight to home.

Thank you for sharing your peace and light.

There are many struggles to face in life and all souls should wing to where they find inner peace. Your words speak volumes of hope and inner peace even if we have to let go of all we hold dear. "Effulgence" is an interesting word which I had to look up but it was worth it
