Do not forget when I have gone away,
when I have gone on to a lonely land,
the warmth and touch when you would hold my hand,
when there's nothing more lovely than to stay.
Do not forget when we'd see a new day,
and we'd talk of a future yet to plan.
Remember the moment when it began,
when colours danced in glorious array.
And when I have to leave you for a while,
it would not be the time for you to grieve;
remember all the joys that we've received,
the happy times, the times that made us smile.
The lingered dreams, the thoughts that I once had,
better to remember this than be sad.

Warth and sincerity along with well chosen words make this a pleasure to read!
-
A very well-executed sonnet, if I may say so, and a pleasure to read.

Yes ...
it's a poignant piece, for sure. The last line is the best line in the poem.
Thanks for entering.

a good piece of poetry which flows along with a smooth rhythm and stylish rhyme, it reminded me a little of rosetti's poem of the same name i think, it had that atmosphere to it.

Very pretty. Beautiful, with the slightest touch of sadness. It's bittersweet.

A beautiful sonnet, Kiran

-
Truly spoken, with a loving touch of poignancy.
You write precious poetry, Kiran. 'Tis because you have a kind heart and sweet ways about you, always.
