Reds, browns and golds of autumn carpet the streets.
Orange fire under wet street lamps where the children meet.
Yellow lamplight beckoning through the cracks in curtains.
Green fire in the eyes of lovers, uncertain.
Blue summer skies as deep as forever.
Indigo of twilight as secret as pleasure.
Violet shadows cloak the sleeping town in mystery until morning.
Author notes
All the colours of the rainbow. Colours mark the changing of the seasons and the changing of lives. Look through any window onto a familiar street scene and you can see it happening every day.
