State of Mayne

Mayne is a name
a claim to fame

a writer to proclaim
a talent not to tame

one who colors out of the frame
who makes the rules of the game

The name is Mayne
the man with the brain

known to complain
traverse new terrain

the one to explain
the art of legerdemain

Mayne is not plain
perhaps a bit vain

no pretense to feign
his goals he'll attain

never mundane
he does entertain

Mayne is a name
about which we exclaim,

"After knowing Mayne,
we'll never be the same!"

Author notes

Observing a black/white graphic made for Mariza
with a bold, bright crossbar in the middle,
Yem sent some words across the screen,
oh, so subtlely, implying that the
word "Mayne" atop the graphic
would be a nice choice!
So here is the result
of that implication,
and just a few more
interpretations.

In a list

Words come alive when answered in kind.

This is one I want to put on Yem or Mayne. I like the highlighting of the name and the different font and shading below. I had it as my avatar briefly but I wanted to be vain and show my face again, lol

Ah yes, weird I didn't even notice that the name was made out of planks. Not too rustic at all. I like them. They'll make an appearance. TIme to get Mayne back to reading.

There is something really clean and dignified about this one, I'll have to use this. I like the green one too, I mean, green lettering. I can use one on Yem, I mean, I am Mayne there too.

Ooh, just saw the orange!!!! That's Yems!

Arrrggghhh, there ae too many good ones to choose from!!!!

The orange ones always strike me, you know why. This one needs a home. Also the one right below it. Maybe the Mayne page just needs a whole bunch (Pixie's word of the day a few days back, lol) of your Mayne graphics...my obsession thing again kicking in, lol

Hey, we may be getting closer to the the "Yemassee" piece with total comments.
But that is the all-time high piece!!!!

The ones now topping page one are what I call the woodpile,
not a pile, but letters made of "wood planks".
The one with the graphid Mayne orange on black is layered
over the original plank letters, many times altered.

Speaking of obsessions, once you get going with our art, it becomes a bit obsessive doesn't it. Same with fiction once I get on a roll...also eating but that isn't a good obsession, lol.

Yes, I think i tried to slip in that idea as the graphics kept muutiplying--the obsession to make the next one better or to better match the colors on
the page. It takes thought and creativitiy---just enough to block out
anything one does not want to be concerned about!!!

Well healthy eating is a necessity, but then the comfort could be an obsession.

    Dear Aesthete,

One should not blame Mayne for his name.
Parents have lain that name on Mayne
and, though he claims domain in Maine
and MOXIE may have maimed his brain,
yet Mayne remains sane all the same
and trains to gain plain fame again.

    This page is DAZZLING!

I don't know which one I like most, they are all stunning.
Loved the colours you used.A man with brain indeed! Mayne has such a great talent to write stories, such a heart to write poems, such a great humour to make us laugh, and an amazing knowledge of literature. A friend to keep and never let go.

made for Mayne with the look
      of the Mariza piece with
      the bold colored center!

Personally I think the bloke is overrated. I mean, the cad doesn't even like a nice spot of tea. It's like the Queen Mum said the other day during our little tete-a-tete, "Sir Ima" she said, "Those blimey Americans know nothing about gentility."

Yes, the Queen mum has a tongue like an old fishwife in reality, a beastly common woman.

Ok, all you English ladies and gentlemen may now start being mean to me.
