What hope do we have for tomorrow,
With society how it is today?
Our hearts and minds stay in sorrow
As our world begins to decay.
Look around at what you see,
How's it look to you?
It doesn't seem so great to me.
What would you like to do?
The torturing cries
Reach up from the crowd.
I stand above observing chaos
As it stretches along the ground.
I see what most won't admit.
I see the problems as they are.
I see the crimes our habits commit,
And our destruction isn't far.
From my higher perch I see
The ignorance of it all.
A time for awareness it should be,
And so now I'm ready to fall.
I can no longer sit up there
And watch all this unfold.
Breathing in this rotting air
As I spread the word of our goal.
Our world is crumbling fast,
We need to save it now.
Just look to the past,
I think you'll find how.
We get one chance with this earth,
It's the only one we've got.
And so now we prove ourselves
Of all that we are not.
I'm down from my perch,
Here to help.
Let's save this earth
From future hell.
Author notes
The song Ready To Fall was the song and music video that first got me into animal rights and enviromental issues. Rise Against are activists and true heroes to me, so this song means a lot to me personally. This is the message they got to me.

A very nice message that they got to you indeed. I saw the music video, and all the horrors of it. We definitely need to take care of the earth and all of its inhabitants. its just cruel and disgusting what people will do in this world. I think that you did an excellent write on the song.
