A dream,
That's what it seems,
Can't comprehend,
This reality.
I swear I heard you
In the dark,
Laughing out,
And causing mayhem.
Feel you near,
When I shed a tear,
Know that your there,
Still standing here.
Don't understand,
The way I cope,
Can't believe,
I've lost all hope.
I'll leave a light on,
In my heart,
A special place,
That's just for you.
And one day
We'll meet again,
This friendship,
Can never truly end.

in memory of my best friend emma, who died age 16, she's always in my heart, and i miss you like the day i lost you.

This isn’t sophisticated but it doesn’t have to be. It’s simple and feels like there might be real emotion behind it. Good luck in the contest.
