A Day and a Night to Remember (Our Wedding Day)

On twenty seventh February
a day which was sunny.
It is a day to remember.
Around ten ‘o’ clock, I started my journey
to you in the same car we have dated
in our romantic months.
Around eleven ‘o’ clock when
I signed our marriage papers
I looked at my watch and
checked the time.
From then on we are each other’s forever.
Then when we entered that room
and we sat beside each other.
That was for the first time
we sat beside each other
as husband and wife.
It was a day to remember.

On the evening of twenty seventh February
we went to our wedding reception
like a King and Queen.
You wore that red sari
which sparkled brightly
in that colourful night.
And you looked like the prettiest bride.
Hours passed by magical background music.
And then the time came for me
to take you to my home
as my Queen.
And then we reached home
and entered our wedding bed room
twelve hours after our marriage.
Then you kissed me for the first time
as my wife and made spot on my face.
It was indeed a night to remember.

This poem is about my wedding day.I am dedicating this poem to my beloved wife Hafsa Bintey Faruq.We got married on 27th February 2008. My wife is an AP member(Hafsa Faruq Samee).
