Reflections In His Final Moments.

Missing image

And the earth stood still with baited breath

this face of mankinds torture,

the burden of eternal life weighed heavy

flushed with pain, this one last chance.

With such deep sorrow He carried

the sins of so many generations,

those gone before and those to come

and the sky darkened in anguish.

For there was no sun that could light this day

no angels that could keep,

He was alone in suffering

bent in acceptance of crucial humiliation.

In final degradation

His tears flowed with the grief,

succumbing to His Father's keeping

and His Will was done...

I like the earth stood still, burden of eternal life weighed heavy, the sorrow of the sins of generations, alone - there is no sun that can light this day, crucial humiliation before succumbing to keeping. Definitely thy will be done! A fine telling... as usual!

  • You have really captured this part in Christ's life with amazing emotion and depth here hun.

"crucial humiliation" really struck me as it was definitely a crucial thing is redeeming mankind.. tipping the scales in justice that had been overbalanced by our original perfect father Adam in his sin...

    Wonderful write!
