She's way too cool but also scared
pretends that life's a ball,
she's growing up and finds the world's
not all she thought it would be.
From cutest child and mothers kiss
she's grown up way too soon,
experienced life in the fast lane
been used and tossed aside.
From alcohol to drug abuse
she's done it all, what now?
those teenage thrills have hardened her
and her heart's now closed to love.
She strides the streets in confidence
and none will know her pain,
yet inwardly she searches
for the one who'll take it away.

This is very very good. It goes so perfectly with the prompt. Absolutly amazing.

I've seen this picture before but I do not think I have read a poem that goes so perfectly with it like this before; strong, full of imagery and emotions.
The ending is bittersweet and sad
Best of luck

A great piece you have penned here, captured the picture prompt well. The title says it all, this really is a snapshot of her life. My muse didnt want to play with this one. Am glad I visited your words.
