with my hands,
this sacred ritual
I performed -
helping you, into this world
your vibrations,
wet, naked and crying
moved my heart –
I knew then, you were mine
my fingertips moved,
slowly, caringly,
feeling this miracle –
my daughter, a precious gift
no longer can I touch you
the same way, but when you slip
your hand into mine,
I marvel in the same way

Oh....
this is soooo beautiful. What a loving, romantic, warm & genuine father you are! I'm just about brought to tears. I wish my Dad would've thought about me like this. I know he loved me, but he couldn't express it & you express your feelings so fluidly & with amazing depth. All the best in the contest! This is a winner to me!

Sweet
This is a really sweet write. I love that you are talking about the day she was born and then you are coming back to the present and saying that you still have that same emotion when it comes to loving her. That is so sweet. I really like this, short and to the point. But even though it is so short its says what so many couldnt. I could feel the eomtion in my heart when I read this and I had to read it again. Beautiful.
