Flowers in Bloom

I could live without many things
And may never regret not having them
But if flowers in bloom were never there
For mankind to breathe in their breaths
If we could never see their buds
Simply to rejoice over some Nature's glory
Would we ever miss their bowing heads?
Would we ever care to call out their names?
What if life's troubles are seeping deep
Isn't it joy enough that flowers are still in bloom?
If I could live a day with a wish
I'd run on a hill of flowers in bloom
I'd rejoice once more that they are there
To brighten the lives of the most lonely one
