i sit and sway and sit and stare
still the page is unaware
my muse must have gone astray
i can't think of what to say
the words are there for me to use
just need an inspiration fuse
i look away and close my eyes
and hope a vision will arise
minutes, now hours, pages white
wet from tears and no insight
everything off, no sound distraction
perhaps silence will lend reaction
eyes heavy, memories flank
still nothing forms, pages blank
if but one moments captured time
to form the words into a rhyme
defeated by a page, down with the quill
stretch out failure, thoughts left still
sitting by the window, a gaze into space
empty contemplations gently erase
dawn comes, birds rejoice
morning reveals a bright clear voice
so i sit and sway and sit in awe
this poetic day God oversaw

The rhyming here was fantastic!!!
The imagery too. great job! -
We are often frustrated in our desire to write that which fills our hearts. As the writer describes here, sometimes you just enjoy the day for what it has to offer. What is learned today may form the poetry of tomorrow.

i want to say more--->
i dont know if this is something you want to hear or not... first i totally dig this just by itself except for the reference to god in the end. i dont ask for your forgiveness there ya know
the poem in itself is awesome and is a great description of how i feel as well if i deliberately sit down to write a poem.
usually for my though i am looking at the white page from the opposite side of ones perspective...
usually for me i see the page laughing at me knowing i have sooo much to say and daring me to put it down on such a small space as a single page. i suffer the same writers block by having too much to say when only a few words would be enough.
regardlessly we both wind up with a blank page daring us to violate its pristine space with our seemingly unimportant words ehh?
i like this write! i really do! or i wouldnt waste youir time reading my response to it! thanx for sharing it with me!

Brilliant
I have always been intrigued by poems that have to do with not finding the right words to put into a poem. This one was a pleasure to read. Fine work, young poet.

ooooh! absolutely divine! Your words flow so smoothely from the page, and I can so totally relate to the feeling of "i sit and sway and sit and stare
still the page is unaware". Your poem moves well, and I love the slight repetition in the first line and the second to last.
Excellent work! Thanks for sharing this, and all the best in the contest,
Luck.
