Hazy humid heat
I stumble belligerent
Through the streets
With a foul, deathly scent
I seemed to have lost track
Under constant attack
From this monkey on my back
I paint the town black
People see red
And elephants pink
While vampires see dead
After a little to drink
But for some reason
A lost of cohesion
Right from the start
Has made me see dark
Am I so cursed
It’s just getting worse
My mind and body fight
As God tilts the earth on me tonight
Maybe this is a warning
A mark of damnation
Of forthcoming mourning
To this insignificant creation
Now people start running
I say don’t bother
This deserves another
So keep the rounds coming
Sudden blur of motion
Drowned, sedated cries
Catering to a nameless notion
As bodies drop like flies
A glimpse, a stutter, a flash
Distorted and vague, this movie reel
Sensory overload and crash
That seems so surreal
Slowly I rise
I can only surmise
What just happened tonight
A sudden ambush attack
Maybe it was all in my head
But I no longer see black
Strangely everyone’s dead
Wearily I amble out of sight
I paint the town red
