“Bargain Bin Affection"
A stolen year old valentine
Cheap plastic and a cheesy color scheme
Slave farmed coco, Stale chocolate molded into “I ♥ U”
I turned on that movie I’ve watched a thousand times
I laughed and then I cried by the end when he realized:
She was lying the whole time and he never knew her anyways
I looked down at my stolen super market chocolate
Why was this never given?
Was he forgetful, does she feel neglected now?
Or maybe they never quite hit it off
This was a presumptuously purchased present
And he was still holding onto hope
Thinking of that desperate feeling of complete vulnerability
I notice the strange way I’ve chosen to eat
The “I” and “U” are gone, but the “♥” remains
As If I was trying to convince myself
That it is possible for love to exist
But not between you and I

Somewhat sardonic write you have penned here. Definately interesting. I enjoyed readin it. Thank you for entering and good luck.

hmmmm I guess I am bias but I hate Valentines Day. The way the "holiday" has become this corparate chain of events. Or it can be the fact that every 14th of Feb since I can remember, has always been a crappy one for me. Either way I can be a crab around that time lol.
Anyways this was well penned, but I love the line(s):
"I turned on that movie I’ve watched a thousand times
I laughed and then I cried by the end when he realized:
She was lying the whole time and he never knew her anyways"
I don't know but it reminded me of "Sleepless in Seattle"

superb
after receiving comment from you on my 'i wanna' poem.. i thought.. wait.. only some people think my poetry is good.. and that's a real few.. so i thought.. they must have the sort of same taste as me.. which left me checking out your poetry.. and .. after reading this one..
i will read more
i loved how you kept the i (heart) you going... the symbolism fitted in so well as you kept it running without any pushed force.
'And he was still holding onto hope'
- holding his cup?

?!!!
SAD!! But cute somehow. I don't know. I really, really like this poem. I don't really know why. I guess I like the open speculation and the sentimental way you talked about the candy

Awe,
This is kind of like you are saying
Like you are longing for love??
None the less i liked this very much.
Kind of sad though.
Great write!
