My Mediator

"Guilty!"
yells the Judge.
I sat there in shock, the word ringing in my ears.
I stood up and tried to say something,
but the HE looked at me and shook his head.
I sat back down and put my head in my hands.
I looked at the Judge, tears streaming down my face.
I asked him, "Why? Why him and not me?"
He looked at me and replied,
"He's willing to go because he loves you."
I ran to HIM as he was led away,
I ran and and jumped into his arms
and hugged him tight.

HE hugged me just as tight, if not tighter.
"I'm sorry," I whispered to him, my voice shaking.
He just hugged me tighter still.
Next thing I knew, he was being led away!
"No," I screamed, "Take me instead!!"
I tried to run to HIM, but someone held me back.
I fell into their arms and sobbed and watch...
I watched as they beat him.
I watched as they laughed at him.
I watched HIM stare into my eyes and I into his.

I cried out to HIM,  I shouted for them to stop!
But no one would hear me...
No one... but him.
I watched as they led him away and I followed.
I watched as he was murdered.
I stood at HIS feet and looked up at him,
HE looked back at me and smiled.
"I love you," he said, "and I will see you again."
"I love you too, but please come down
just so I can hug you one more time!"

But he frowned and said:
"Its is done... it is finished."
And... and...
HE breathed his last.
The men came out and stabbed his side,
I cried out and fell to the ground.
I wouldn't leave HIM.
Another man and few others came and took him down.
I followed them, never leaving HIS side.
They buried HIM and I slept by HIS tomb.
I know I'll see HIM again.
But how unfair it is for him to die,
instead of me!

I jsut can't wait to see HIM
and to run into HIS arms
and hug HIM and never let go.
