The Children of Sudan

War tore their homes a part
mothers murdered, fathers enslaved
bitter tears rolling down their cheeks
sadness is the only visible sign on their faces
as anger finds its way out through
the invisible wounds that burn like fire
the horrors in their eyes I can see
bodies scars, invisible you can't see
souls vanquished with despair
locked in a cage gasping for the air
only hope is to die, no one is there
nobody to lend a hand, no one care
the children of Sudan, sit down there
waiting for the moment to come
when they take their last air
when they take their last breath
only hope is to die, no one is there
nobody to lend a hand, no one care

You are a very kind soul. I can sense your compassion. This is a subject that has torn at my heart since I myself was just a child. I despise war and violence in any form. It is when it systematically destroys the innocence of children...that I find myself lost in great despair. I used to wonder why? After many years of studying wars and the nature of mankind...it is no mystery to me. Greedy evil people have no care whom they torture and abuse...as long as they get what they seek. I wish you many blessings in your life, and I am certain with all you know and have seen...you will be a great light to many who suffer. This is an excellent poem on so many levels.

    Nice to meet you...

      thank you my friend

I am glad to have met you
and to be honest, not a lot of people view the world the way you and or me view it, but we only can do so much, and pass on the rest to the generations to ocme, pray to God and have his angels watch over those who cant see clearly, and hopefully guide them to the right direction. Abused is unacceptable and is cruel, but we can make it fade away by praying and holding on to our faith,

Now that's what I'm talking about.
This one has the feeling, the structure, flow and rhyme to kick some serious ass.
    Good work pal.

Your verse tugged, and tore at my heart! I have a special spot for the children over sea's. Sudan is one of the worst. Why do these babies have to suffer? As tears fall again to my keyboard my prayers go up to the children.
Also thanking The Lord that my children dont have to suffer as this, because we live in America!

waiting for the moment to come

when they take their last air

when they take their last breath

only hope is to die, no one is there

nobody to lend a hand, no one care

Sadly written but a needed write!

it is so sad that the human civilization no longer care about one another, and that everything is governed by rules and regulations. In certain part of the world a genocide is committed and no one cares why or who is responsible, and in some parts we are going after things that do not make sense, and being one of the kids that grew up in that screw up world, I know what it feels like to struglle and suffer.

Thank you for your support and may God bless your soul and Family...
